PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE ON HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (PSCHFW)

Keeping in mind the voluminous work of the Indian Parliament, Standing Committees are formed to provide continuous assistance to diverse Ministries. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare deals with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Given the current scenario, the focus on healthcare facilities is essential to adapt to a swiftly changing world due to the cosmic spread of COVID-19. Along with various functions, the committee safeguards one of the primary fundamental rights of people, which is to attain the highest standard of health and welfare.

The Committee looks after the development of the Indian health care system and is responsible for leading initiatives for the rural health care system, centrally sponsored schemes, and medical education across sectors. The implementation of these initiatives leads to a better quality of health and well-being.

Development of a multisectoral approach to overcome the inadequacies of health-care facilities and promote access, equity, and quality in health care.
