The Group of 20, or G20 is an organization of finance ministers and central bank governors from 19 individual countries and the European Union, along with various international organizations. It was established in 1999 after a series of major international debt crises. The G20 aims to unite leaders from all over the world to discuss shared economic, health and political challenges, periodically inviting guests in order to participate in negotiations and deliberations. It was created by the G7, which is an informal bloc of industrialized democracies.
